Dia De Los Muertos and more

3 more Dia De Los Muertos skulls are done and ready to be photographed. I've got another 4 to finished, hopefully by the end of the week, that's the goal at least.

I'm also planning to work on some Halloween themed aprons and maybe some shopping bags along with some felt bats & cats. We'll see what time allows me to get done, that and the OH MY GOD IT'S HOT temps that we're having here in San Diego. Though I keep hearing a rumor that it's supposed to cool off come the end of the week.

I've also finished writing my guest blog piece that will be featured over at Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom in Mrs B's 31 days of Halloweeen along with a giveaway of one of my Etsy items. (see the button over on the right for more information)

I'm also preparing for another Dark Goddess Event on October 2th and then I'll start prepping for the Yule/Christmas season.

Halloween Creatures

With Halloween around the corner, I've been inspired to make some felt creatures.

So far I'm pretty happy with what I've turned out and hope to get them listed on my Etsy site soon.

Mr. Pumpkin Head:

Skeleton:

Dia De Los Muertos Skull:

Cthulu

They're about 5-6 inches tall and were a blast to make. I've also got a vampire and a grim reaper that are in progress and a bunch more of the skulls cut out. I'm looking forward to making some more over the coming weeks.

Signage

I'm still waiting for my vinyl banner for shows and such and since I don't have anything with my business name on it aside from my business cards, I did the following sign before the Dark Goddess Party.

It needs some touching up, but I'm pretty happy with how it looks so far. Once I fix some of the lines, I'm going to have the edges smoothed out and then I'm going to either stain it or paint it. I haven't decided which yet. Maybe I'll do both.

Dark Goddess/Kettner Nights Party

On 9/10 I set up shop at my first Dark Goddess/Kettner Nights event. I had a small set up with a few of my boxes, bears and pillows up for display as well as a few of the felt creatures that I finished the day before.

The event was a great time with friends and some new faces and I look forward to doing another one in the next couple of months. I think there is talk of doing one in October towards the end of the month right before Halloween, though that is still in the works.

Last week a took another round of photos and I'm in the process of editing them and getting them posted as well.

The website redesign is still in the works and will hopefully start coming to fruition in the next couple weeks especially since everything is being moved to the new server this week.

I've also started a couple more boxes, these in a Steampunk theme. I'm also getting ready to do a batch of men's vests and some garters for a friend to take up to a Burlesque show next month.

Change is in the air

Summer has come and gone here in San Diego, well if today's weather is anything to base it off of. It's love 70's which is a nice break from the 90's that we were seeing a couple weeks ago. It's about time for me to put away the sandles and dig out the tennis shoes again and maybe a heavier sweatshirt.

I've been tinkering with the lay out of this thing and am slowly getting it to where I'm pretty happy with the look. Though I'm sure that I'll have more changes and tweaks as time goes on.

Aside from playing with the look of my blog, I've also been working on things that are Halloween and Steampunk themed.

Once I get some more items done I'll do another run of photos and get them posted.
